Alain Delon


Alain Fabien Maurice Marcel Delon is a French actor and businessman, with FrenchSwiss dual citizenship since 1999. Delon became one of Europes most prominent actors and screen sex symbols in the 1960s. He achieved critical acclaim for roles in films such as Rocco and His Brothers , Purple Noon , LEclisse , The Leopard , Lost Command and Le Samoura . Over the course of his career Delon worked with many wellknown directors, including Luchino Visconti, JeanLuc Godard, JeanPierre Melville, Michelangelo Antonioni and Louis Malle.

Delon was born in Sceaux, Seine , ledeFrance, a suburb of Paris. His parents, dith and Fabien Delon, divorced when Delon was four. Both remarried, and Delon has a halfsister and two halfbrothers. His paternal grandmother was Corsican, from PrunellidiFiumorbo. He attended a Roman Catholic boarding school, the first of several schools from which he was expelled because of unruly behavior. Teachers once tried to convince him to enter the priesthood because of his aptitude in religious studies.
